Field Trip Assignment
Due: March 6, 2012

You are taking your class on a field trip to Medora for their year-end celebration. You need to be organized for the trip. There are five things you need to do in the planning process. You will prepare the five components and present them to your peers on March 6.
1.    Letter to Parents
·         Using a letter template in Word write a letter to the parents letting them know about the dates and location of the field trip. Let them know that they will receive a brochure with more details. Your letter should also include a request for volunteers.

2.    Budget
·         You will need to prepare a budget for your class trip. You can use Access or Excel, there are a number of templates you can use or make your own. Your budget needs to include transportation, accommodations, activities (minimum 3), and food for 15 students, 3 chaperones, and yourself. You can include other items in your budget.

3.    Brochure
·         Create a brochure to create excitement for your students and also to provide parents with the itinerary for the trip. You should include dates, locations, activities, what to bring, where are we staying and other details. The brochure must contain pictures. You can use a template in Word or Publisher or create your own.

4.    Activity
·         To build excitement and prepare students for the field trip you need to plan an activity. You can make a scavenger hunt, crossword puzzle, word search , fill in the blanks, game (Power Point or Excel) or any other activity that will prepare students.

5.    Rubric
·         Using a rubric maker (we will look at some examples in class) make a rubric for your activity.

Remember a graph should be informative. You may have set up your attendance or your grades in a way that making a graph does not give you any valuable information. When you try making a graph and you find it doesn't make any sense. Do not change your database just write a brief justification.
